Computer and Latest IT gadgets
Definition:
A computer is an electronic device that processes data to perform various tasks. It takes input, processes it, stores information, and produces output.
Basic Functions of a Computer:
- Input – Accepts data through devices like keyboard, mouse, etc.
- Processing – Uses the CPU (Central Processing Unit) to process the input data.
- Storage – Saves data temporarily (RAM) or permanently (HDD/SSD).
- Output – Displays the processed data via monitor, printer, etc.
Types of Computers:
- Supercomputer – High-speed and powerful, used for scientific research.
- Mainframe Computer – Used in large organizations for bulk data processing.
- Personal Computer (PC) – Used by individuals for general tasks.
- Embedded Systems – Computers integrated into devices like washing machines, ATMs, etc.
Components of a Computer:
- Hardware – The physical parts (CPU, RAM, Hard Disk, Monitor, etc.).
- Software – Programs that run on a computer (Operating System, Applications).
Characteristics of a Computer:
- Speed – Computers process data at extremely high speeds compared to humans.
- Accuracy – Performs calculations and operations with high precision.
- Automation – Once a program is executed, the computer works automatically.
- Versatility – Can perform different types of tasks (gaming, calculations, designing, etc.).
- Storage – Can store vast amounts of data permanently or temporarily.
- Connectivity – Can connect to the internet and other devices for communication.
- Multitasking – Can perform multiple tasks at the same time efficiently.
